Secretary’s Report

· Mintues were approved from the 6/4/08 meeting

· Need to amend minutes from the 5/7/08 meeting. The 2008-2009 budget was approved but was not added to the minutes. Attached is a scanned copy (by 9/4/08)

· The School board’s budget did not include salaries for any new staff positions nor did it include any monies for the Percussion Ensemble.

· Jeannine was reimbursed $27 for the labels for the ad letters

· $147 was given for Wawa Coupons sold

Director’s Report

· Welcomed the new parents

· Show is going well, drill was done by a professional this year and is excellent. Opener is done

· Getting ready for Camp – uniforms will be fitted during the first few days of camp. Mandatory Parent Meeting will be held on 8/18. Handbook is being updated and will be handed out during this meeting.

· Reminder about the car wash on 8/23, 9-2.

Home Show

· About 300 letters were sent to local businesses to solicit ads for the show programs.

· Kids are getting 25% of each ad sold into their personal accounts.

· About 8-10 Bands are registered to attend the Home Show and a lot of those bands are bigger than the bands that participated last year.

Dragon Run

· It was approved that the Boosters would pay for the kids Dragon Run shirts this year. It is being held on 9/27/08.

Fundraising

· Indoor Percussion - Since the school board did not budget any money for the Indoor Percussion we will have to do additional fundraisers to supplement the cost of the trip to Wildwood and for instructors and uniforms.

· Wawa Coupons – currently available - Students will receive the entire $1 profit on each coupon sold.

· Joe Corbi’s – Currently running, forms are due 9/9/08

· Script Cards – gift card program will begin shortly.

· Home Show – Will need a lot of parent volunteers to make the show work. Sign-up sheets will be available at the Mandatory Parent Meeting during Camp

· We will have to decide how the fundraising will go for seniors and for those not in Jazz Band or Indoor Percussion for the winter months.

New Business

· Corresponding Secretary. Will vote on in the September meeting

· Concession Stand - Michelle Martinez clarified that the small concession stand on the visitors’ side will not be used for storage and the Football Team, Cheerleaders and Band will have the opportunity to use the stand as a fundraiser. We are scheduled for 10/3 and possibly 9/18.

· Trip - Working on transportation – Since the trip to championships is now mandatory the school will pay for what the cost would be to take us up and back in one day. We will have to pay for the rest.
