Meeting called to order.

 

SECRETARY’S REPORT

·        Minutes from 8/6/08 meeting were read and approved.  Will be posted on the website

 

TREASURER’S REPORT

            Account balances 6/03/08                       Checking       $     851.81

                                                                        TOTAL            $11,025.64

·        Need to do a good job on fundraising since there will be a lot of expenses the next few months.

 

Bills to be Paid

·        $95.40 for the website fee

·        $954 Deposit needed for Hershey candy bars (25% of 30 cases)

 

DIRECTOR’S REPORT

 

Band Camp

·        Very successful  Got a lot accomplished and everyone is motivated. 

·        Opener and ballad are already on the field.  Show won’t be done for first competition.

·        Thanks to the parents for getting the kids to camp

 

Parent Show

·        9/11

·        Lauren will feed the kids before the show and parents will bring desserts for after the show

 

East Greenwich Day

·        9/13, 10 am

·        Schedule for the weekend will be posted on website

 

Trip

·        School is paying for a portion of the bus fees.

·        Getting new quotes due to the lower gas prices. 

·        It appears there are a lot of parents who want to go.

 

Home Show

·        11 Bands registered to date

·        Director’s Meeting upcoming to get show line-up

·        Deadline for ads is 9/30

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Fundraising

·        Decided not to do cheesecake and cookie dough sale.  Instead Mike is organizing pie sales from Swedesboro Pastry Shoppe.  Kids will sell coupons to be redeemed at the Shoppe during the Thanksgiving Holiday.  Talked about extending it thru the Christmas Holiday.

·        Car Wash – made $818 which is being put towards the trip

·        Joe Corbi’s – currently running – orders due 9/5

·        Smencils – currently running – sales are going well

·        Wawa Coupons – ongoing – sold 250 and working on another 250

·        Script gift cards is just about to be kicked off

·        Trunk Sale 9/13 – Flyers to be sent home with kids - $15 per space. – opens @ 8 am.  Advertised on Craig’s List and Gloucester County Times – will sell dogs and water

 

Home Show

·        Cover for the program has been completed by Diane Henny.  Will post them around town.

·        Papa Luigi’s is willing to give us a price of $8 per pizza to be sold at the show.

·        T-shirts are being made with the “Sound in Motion” logo

·        Working with the Pretzel Factory on a price for soft pretzels

 

 

Chaperones

Need more volunteers

 

Banquet

·        Mr. Patel offered the Motel 6 as this year’s location.

·        Have to figure out how the food can be done

·        Shooting for 1/16 as the date

 

Dragon Run

·        Need volunteers for Thurs. bag stuffing, Friday pre-registration and Race day

·        Kids need to register, especially for shirt size

·        300 already registered.

·        Do not need to attend game or competition that day.

·        Race begins at 8:30, should be over by 9:30

·        Band Plays in opening ceremony, Run, National Anthem then Jazz Band will play

 

New Business

·        April mentioned that there are grants available for non profits

·        Tailgating – Needed for championships

·        Kathy Rebechi has agreed to step up to be the corresponding secretary.  She was unanimously voted onto the Exec. Board

·        Membership sign-up not as successful as last year

·        October meeting needs to be changed to 10/8 as the first Wed. is back to school night
